The International Practice Manager role is a fantastic senior level opportunity to work strategically with the OC&C partnership, providing innovative commercial development and strategic support to the global practice. Operating at the highest levels within the firm, the role will have a strong business development feel to it and will be strongly involved in all strategic aspects of the international practice, acting as a key internal advisor to the partners. The International Practice Manager will work closely with the relevant sectors to put together an effective business plan covering all other areas of the business development, commercial and marketing mix.

About The Candidate

The amount of time required for the role will depend on the number of practice groups covered, potentially starting at 60% allocation (3 days) through to full-time. Whilst this role can allow for some flexibility for off-site working, there is an expectation that individuals will spend a minimum of 75% of their days per week in their local office. Some International travel may be required – especially for any relevant Practice Group meetings which usually take place throughout Europe.

Objectives:

  • Drive sector business development internationally with a focus on systematising our go-to-market approach
  • Support partner group with developing strategic account maps and plans for target client set

  • Support partner group in executing against key account plans in order to deliver three-year revenue targets

  • Support sector leadership in the annual strategic planning process and in implementing relevant initiatives that arise as a result

  • Support processes that allow for most effective deployment of resource and expertise for business development opportunities

  • Support processes that facilitate codification and transfer of knowledge across the international network

  • Ultimately, facilitate the commercial success of the wider Consumer Goods team

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain account prioritisation lists including account mapping (i.e. relationship map between client individuals and OC&C team)

  • Regular account planning & monitoring sessions with OC&C sub-sector and account leads

  • Ensure sessions are scheduled with the agreed frequency between OC&C team and the individuals on the client side (liaising with Partners and their PAs as appropriate)

  • Manage agenda (NB not content creation) for client business development sessions with Partner (and AP) group

  • Monitor and assess progress in those client sessions and track vs account objectives

  • Provide regular key account progress reports to leadership team

  • Ensure any developed perspectives / potential ‘push sell’ project topics reach client audience via appropriate account planning apparatus

  • Assess lead generation from business development efforts and input to leadership team to make decisions around course correction / re-orientation of resources

  • Support sector leads on budget / financial planning and reporting activities; contribute to international commercial planning discussions

  • Support senior team in commercial communications with sector and broader firm

  • Understand what the sector needs to do in order to achieve annual objectives

 

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding, experienced and trusted professional with personal gravitas and the ability to interact with all Partners across the international partnership

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication is required

  • The International support team is small so it is key that candidates have the ability to operate strategically but with a hands-on approach as well

  • Extensive and proven business development experience in a professional services setting

  • Experience using pipeline tracking tools and software

  • Confident using common features of Excel  

  • Understands when to act and when to ask

  • Understands the need and has the ability to manage expectations at all levels
